Care and Safety Policies

at Eastside Animal Hospital

For the safety of your pet and other pets (and people) in the vicinity, all patients must be on a secure leash, harness, or in a proper pet carrier when visiting our animal hospital.

If you’re planning to board your pet or have them groomed at our vet clinic, their core vaccinations must be up to date. In addition, they must have undergone parasite screening and be taking parasite preventatives.

Dr. Seager and our veterinary staff are fully dedicated to providing your pet with an experience that is as comfortable as possible. We prioritize pain management and easing anxiety. We are trained to assess both of these issues. Our trusted veterinarians will administer appropriate medications from our on-site pet med pharmacy for any patient we believe is uncomfortable. Owners are responsible for the costs incurred by these medications and/or treatments. Every attempt will be made to communicate the anticipated uses, expected results, and the necessity of their use while your pet is in our care.

After-Hours

We are not a 24-hour vet clinic or an emergency animal hospital. Our staff members are not present outside of normal business hours. Patients who require hospitalization may be referred for overnight care to a 24-hour facility, such as the Michigan State University Veterinary Medical Center.

Prescription Policy

Our pet pharmacy requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for all prescription refills. All patients must have been examined at our hospital within the last 12 months for their prescription to be authorized by our veterinarian. In addition, some prescriptions may have special monitoring requirements to make a refill safe and appropriate. All prescriptions are non-refundable and non-returnable.

Payment Policy

All payments are expected at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, Care Credit, and Scratchpay. Care Credit is a medical refinancing service that offers several payment plans–many of which are interest-free. As an added bonus, once you have this card, it can also be used for many of your own medical expenses if your provider accepts it, as it is not just for veterinary medical needs.
